The Story That
Started It All

Resident Story · Ruth’s Place, Marietta GA
Margaret Found a Home
After Years of Uncertainty
“When I arrived at Ruth’s Place, I had one bag and nowhere else to go. Within a week, I had a room, meals, friends, and people checking on me every single day.”
Margaret spent three years navigating housing insecurity after the loss of her husband and a medical crisis that depleted her savings. She came to Grace Senior Living through a referral from a social worker who had heard about our program through a church partnership.
Today, Margaret leads a weekly card game group at Ruth’s Place, volunteers to welcome new residents, and has become one of our most vocal advocates for the mission. She calls her room “the first real home I’ve had in years.”
Margaret T., Age 74

Before & After
From Isolation
to Community
When Harold arrived at Grace Senior Living, he had not spoken to another person in four days. He was living in a deteriorating apartment, had lost contact with his family, and was managing a chronic health condition entirely on his own.
“I used to count how many days passed without a conversation. Now I can’t get through breakfast without being invited to three different things.”
Within three months at Ruth’s Place, Harold had reconnected with a daughter he had not spoken to in two years, joined a weekly chess club, and was receiving regular wellness monitoring that caught and treated an undiagnosed condition.
Harold’s story is not unique — it is what happens when isolation ends and community begins. It is what Grace Senior Living exists to create, one resident at a time.

Families at Peace
We toured several facilities before Ruth’s Place. The difference was immediate — the staff knew every resident by name, knew their stories. My mother has been there eight months and she calls it home.
